This is untrue. The body converts all forms of carbohydrate into glucose. Deprive the body of carbohydrate and you alter your physiology on a cellular level. Nutritional ketosis is a regularly prescribed treatment for seizure disorders. No judgement of the OP, but I don't believe a person can be in ketosis on a vegan diet.

I find that part fascinating too. I've never heard it associated with glycogen storage. I work with a nurse who has dermographia and have watched him welt up all the time.

People choose vegan diets for many reasons, and that's fine with me, but I'm deeply curious if it could be treated by a true ketogenic diet. I imagine if it could, a person would see results within a week. It sounds like OP is well adjusted to the disorder and is ok with her choice.

Hi Gary, I just ordered your latest book a minute ago. I loved your podcast with Joe Rogan. He's also keen on having scientists like Dr Rhonda Patrick on his show to talk about healthier diet ( still centered on low consumption of sugar and processed food/carbohydrates). Do you feel that dietary approaches like yours and the intermittent fasting micronutrients recommended by her are our best one-two punch for preventing inflammatory based diseases ( Parkinson's, DM type 2, etc)?
