I was a medic in Alaska, so I have a lot of sad stories and a few funny ones. Do you have a favorite story?

The day that someone has to call EMS is usually the worst day of their lives. They have usually never had to do this before (unless they're a frequent flyer, and we hate those for different reasons) and they don't know what to do or what to expect.

Very few ambo companies are run by municipal governments. Some are, but most are run by private companies. the private companies will refer the person to collections and just charge more to make up the charge-off if the person doesn't pay.

If it doesn't get written down, it didn't happen. Exactly.

I spent almost a decade in rural Alaska. I got some excellent dental work from two dentists, and some incredibly awful dental work from a dentist who used to work as a prison dentist before coming to rural AK (he misrepresented himself as being able to do the crown work I needed on a front tooth). We also have a major shortage of dentists, so to fill the need there are certified dental therapists. the ADA freaked out. Do you have a position on this issue about dental therapists in majorly underserved areas?
