Why spend your capital when others are willing to let you spend theirs? If you have a product that enough other people believe in, and they’re aware of the risks from the beginning, why is it looked down on? If they’re not being dishonest, what’s the problem?

Fellow tarheel here! I really want to move out to LA and go to school for film but I can't decide if I want to focus on studying acting or directing. Which do you prefer and how do you like UCLA?

I've already done some work in a few indie films when I lived in Charlotte, and I had a blast! I loved everything about the acting side of the process. I'm just worried that I won't be able to cut it. I have a few friends that work out in the LA area and they said one of the most important things is not where you went to school, but, rather, your work ethic. Showing up early, being prepared, not wasting anyone's time as time is most certainly money on a shoot. Would you agree? (Also, thank you so much for replying! This is the first reply I've ever had on and AMA and I really appreciate it!)
