I have seen a lot of redditors in this thread and another thread talk about the importance of statistics in the creation of AI. I've taken an equivalent course to the STAT110 course you hyperlinked in your text post, but I don't understand the exact use of statistics. Is statistics used to lower programming complexity so that instead of finding an optimal solution amongst all other polynomial time solutions you just make the best educated guess? I'm very interested in this, thanks
