Is it really free if you have to give up your privacy & security?

Ads are a major security issue. Just look at how major websites keep getting compromised via the ad network (with Forbes being one of the more recent examples).

Just not worth it, and I just switched to Firefox with uBlock on Android because of this (and Firefox is far from perfect).

I want a browser which cares about my privacy/security instead of worrying about offending ad networks (maybe that will force them to fix this mess).

What makes you think that she won't pull something like that again, when the kids are even more influenceable? You are way too nice about this. What she did is 'psychopath' level IMO, and I can easily see her cause more problems. Forcing those kids to go through all of this was extremely selfish of her. In some cases, losing this type of parent isn't the worst thing (I've seen/experienced a lot of shit).

That said, I'm very impressed! It's obvious your kids' wellbeing is really important to you, which is really nice to hear (nowadays, too many kids having kids, and are getting this really wrong).

To be honest, I wouldn't be as worried about legal problems (you definitely seem to have that under control), I'd be more concerned about her slowly planting really bad seeds in their head, which can do more damage in the long run, and can be more difficult to control.

Why would you need a conventional vacuum when you have a central vac? That defeats the whole purpose. Most CV owners don't use a conventional vacuum in addition to a central vac system (you simply can't outperform a decent central vac), plus there are tons of benefits (pollution, noise, maintenance, easy to repair, etc.).

The CV industry is a rip-off tho, as the markup is EXTREMELY high. I got mine at dealer cost, which was close to what a good conventional vacuum would have set me back, and that included the piping.

I actually retrofitted my home (and know many other people who have), and can even have my home automation system turn the thing off when there is driveway motion, phone rings, and even have an inlet in my garage for car cleaning purposes, there's just no going back.

I actually disagree with that statement. Leasing can make sense in a few scenarios:

• Electric vehicles are a great example, as battery technology is maturing rapidly, and manufacturers have been using the tax credit they get as owner of the vehicle to discount the leases significantly.
• You are waiting for a new version of your favorite car to come out in 2 years or less, you need a new reliable car, but really want that MY2016. Leasing can work in this scenario.

Of course, you have to be smart about leasing, and don't do things such as large down payments or a 4 year lease.
