The thing is, the candidates do understand this. This goes into Campaigns, which is something I'm currently studying.

In short, the Presidential Campaign has negligible effects- due to it being predictable, in and of itself. ~60-90% of the population already knows how they're going to vote due to partisan standings. They're already voting for 1 candidate or the other. This leaves ~10-40% of the population as free votes.

In the past 3-4 elections in particular, party loyalty has been high from both sides, which has left a group of people (probably about 10-20% of the population) that tends to be uneducated and quite frankly indifferent as the deciding factor. While there are occasionally unsystematic factors in a campaign (the recent... events.. in Libya for example) there typically isn't anything that will massively sway a voter.

Thus, trailing candidates are left trying to woo the votes of ~10-20% of the population that quite frankly doesn't give a shit. And what's the best way to get their vote? Tell them what they want to hear. One example is Karl Rove's swiftboating of John Kerry where Kerry lost a large number of poll percentages due to questionable / false "facts".

Yes, that means election results can be fairly accurately predicted- and at the moment they're indicating Obama's going to win.

tl;dr candidates understand it, they just don't give a shit because they want the votes of the ignorant / idiotic people. Queue Romney 'don't care about fact-checkers' quote.

Hey guys, saw your classics OTC at Ruby Skye a year ago and it was a major influence in my exploration of trance- thanks for being awesome!

2 questions- 1st off, have you looked into Neptune Project's Amplifyd Music project / will you be looking to use a platform like that to push your new album over the conventional systems?

2nd, a lot of trance artists have been incorporating more and more classic songs in their sets the last few years- do you anticipate your album continuing that trend of pursuing older types of sounds? Specifically, do you anticipate looking to remix older tracks to bring them back to the forefront of people's minds, or are you expecting to try to create new tracks that incorporate the fundamental elements of the classics?

Side note, any chance at another classics OTC in the Bay? Maybe some NYE shenanigans? Are you both still based in Oakland?
