Not Robocop, Batman. Frank pitched "Holy Terror, Batman" (a play on a former Batman elseworlds title) which was essentially Batman vs. Osama Bin Laden. Frank decided that Batman wasn't right for the story, and, five years later, he released the book "Holy Terror" starring "the Fixer," and it was unanimously declared to be awful. That's the reference.

Edit: Not Batman, Robocop! Specifically these issues which are based on Miller's original, uncensored screenplays for Robocop 2/3. They were critically panned but I didn't know that, I thought they were pretty cool (although I only looked at the art, didn't really read).

Hey have you been contacted at all by Oscar the Grouch? You guys have a mutual affinity for garbage, I think you'd really get along.

The British Library rules!

  1. What's the weirdest book you've come across?
  2. Are there authors/illustrators with whom you were previously unfamiliar, but would now recommend outside of your own research purposes?
  3. Nice tumblr, followed! Your handwriting is terrible. No question here.
  4. How did you decide to work under a Free Culture license, and does it affect your approach to the work itself? Is that standard British Library procedure? Are there other projects of a similar scope that you know of, operating under the same sort of public domain approach to copyright?
