Ramanujan faced tremendous opposition during his time working with Hardy due to his inability to conform to the practices of "traditional mathematics". On the one hand, his insights (of spiritual origin or otherwise) ushered in new perspectives and problems, while on the other hand, on occasion he would be wrong. To what extent do you think feelings or intuitions about truth can or should play a role in the sciences and mathematics?
