Unfortunately i must disagree regarding the validity of the proof. The majority of ethnic koreans in china have been living there for many generations (like the numerous other ethnic groups in china), and have nothing to do with north korea. you are correct in that south koreans wouldn't try to acquire (mainland) chinese citizenship, but you should know that there are another completely different pool of koreans other than those who live on the peninsula.

exactly. that along with the fact that people here don't seem to know what "ethnic korean (朝鮮族)" means in china.

similar tactics have been employed by north koreans to turn south koreans and foreigners into spies for their government. NK figures that if those men marry and have children who are often forcibly kept in NK, they will have no choice but to comply with the government

that's the thing. they do NOT ever accept illegal defectors. There are rare cases of north korean citizens acquiring a visa to "visit relatives", but OP is claiming that she fled to china. Most cases of defectors living for extended periods in china involve the usage of fake IDs and pretending to be ethnic korean chinese citizens.
