Will the next game be in the same universe or will it have an entirely new storyline?

Honestly I would love either option. I was thinking maybe the explorer who died in the sea and the explorer who became the wooden mannequin could team up and finally escape in their afterlife.

But I also like the mystery of not knowing what’s going on and trying to piece together clues, so I would also love a completely new storyline.

Maybe the first option could be a small DLC, since we know the full story of Castle Rock.

Also, what happened to the explorers who weren’t playable characters in the game?
