My great grandmother had an underbite, and so far it seems I was the only one to get it (unless there are some distant cousins I don't know about). Wonder if it's completely random or if it usually skips a few generations.

No surgery for me, I started wearing a headgear at 6 years old. It put pressure against my chin and forehead, while pulling my top jaw out with rubber bands attached to bands on my back teeth. Headgear in first grade, braces were put on as soon as my permanent teeth started coming in, and I wore them until 6th grade. Then my face changed a lot and I had a second round of braces for 9-10 grades because my bite was off again. Orthodontics is a good field to go into, kiddos!

If you had the option to learn about your donor and meet their family, would you do it?

(I don't think I would, but I've never had a transplant so who knows)
