My grandpa was enlisted from 42-45 and served in the 31/51 AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY BATTALION as a Sergeant. Battled in the same south-eastern Asian region.

I never really got to speak to him as he passed when I was 9, I do remember him telling me some stories but can't really remember them. One thing that I do remember is him saying that "everything will be okay". As a kid I didn't understand but as I have grown older and researched more about him and what he has had to deal with, everything will be okay.
