Is there such thing as a legally binding agreement that prohibits someone from talking to someone else or is this a church scare tactic of some kind?

EDIT: I'm really just curious if the church is pulling people in front of a judge and making them sign something legally binding. Of course the church on it's own has no such power.

The number of questions you've answered and the quality manner in which you've answered them is admirable. Much appreciated! Do you fear reprisal or feel the need for personal security or are these issues you planned for before leaving the church?

We moved from London up to Aberdeen when I was about 9 years old. (I'm American.) Rangers were staying at the hotel we were at for a game against Aberdeen. Being a fan of the game but having no clue about Scottish teams I was just excited to see a pro team up close. I ended up getting to talk to Ally McCoist, Andy Goram, and a couple other guys. Been a Rangers fan ever since...which got me in trouble with the locals in Aberdeen since there was a bit of a rivalry at the time. The sheet of paper I got all their autographs on was stolen by the movers when we moved out of our house in Banchory and back to the US. Was devastated as a kid and still pissed about it now.

Not sure why I chose to share that, lol. Just came to mind. Thanks for the AMA and looking forward to the book!
