I lost interest in this AMA as soon as I saw that. I’ll circle back around to see if it gets answered, but this has always horrified me on every level.

Eh, it’s Reddit. I never said she WAS any of those things, just said any of them COULD be a possibility. I don’t think recommending counseling is a bad suggestion, because that’s the main point of what I said. Who knows ~shrug~

There are also sex therapists that will actually have intercourse with you as part of the treatment. Maybe by working with one you could find a way to work on your troubles, emotionally and physically. I’m sorry, I don’t know which states it’s legal in or not, but a bit of a Google search should be able to answer that

Interesting, I don’t see you mentioning getting more to the root of what her actual problem is, such as maybe she was sexually abused? Closeted gay? Religiously oppressed? Asexual? Isn’t actually in love and/or sexually attracted to him (which was finally my ex-husband’s answer in my marriage, which he couldn’t even sus out through open communication and counseling until we divorced and I finally figured it out)? Could be any, all or something else, but I would suggest counseling because she’s shutting u/mr_blanket down so hard there isn’t ANY open communication, and it doesn’t sound like there will be without professional intervention.
