Idk but I have been in a 3 week coma and had about 20 surgeries. The coma was way different than anesthesia. I was first in a drug induced coma in order to be intubated but after a few days, I was in an actual coma. (Stopped responding to all stimuli even with no sedation, pupils fixed and dilated, etc.) Anesthesia is like you close your eyes and then open them again. Not even really like a nap. Nothing fills the space. A coma is filled with crazy dreams and adventures that seem completely real. Mine were so vivid, 11 years later, I can still describe them pretty specifically. I was on the brink of death (like 0% chance of survival) the entire time and my adrenal glands hemorrhaged so I am sure I had some interesting physiology feeding my brain something. In the real world, it is weird to know that weeks have passed once you wake up, but for me, time passed in my coma as well. It seemed like I did a lot in those 3 weeks.

If you need any connections to charitable medical suppliers, there is an organization I have some ties to at my graduate school that collects and disperses various medical supplies all over the world. Pm me and I will try my best to help any way I can. (I am a Public Health grad student and it is my dream to be able to do international aid work but I am very immune compromised, so it is not very feasible).

I have a brain injury, as well (infection, though, not trauma) and I always love my MRIs! I have films from the first few years (it was in 2003) and CDs for the rest. There is something oddly calming about seeing my brain... possibly just knowing its still in there ;)

I am immunecompromised and have Addison's... so I eat prednisone like tic tacs basically. This is a good answer. Also, I avoid buffets on my docs advice. It has been more helpful than you would imagine. People can be gross. If you are going to kiss her (I am assuming you intend to, lol) you should also be careful not to share drinks and where you eat, that you are up to date on shots and try to stay away from sick people. You can bring germs home to her! The whole toilet wiping thing is also just kinda cute and chivalrous :) My hubby started doing it at gas stations, theme parks, malls and other places back before I even thought about it. Good luck and thank you for giving her the gift of life!
