Are you the person who is responsible for "progression systems" in games? Why do games have to have addictive progression systems? Why not make a game good enough so people play it for long periods of time?

When I was younger I used to be prone to migraines. As I got older I found out it was from MSG, along with Disodium inosinate/guanylate. However, I don't get migraines from natural forms of Glutamate like Yeast Extract or parmigiana cheese. What can be the cause of this allergy/sensitivity?
