How were you able to get your doctorate, find a tenure-track job, and achieve tenure within 5-6 years? That seems almost impossible. Not calling bs, just genuinely very curious.

I think so. But it’s possible he had a doctorate near completion before he was homeless which he then completed, miraculously found a job, and then somehow produced a tenure package in less time it takes for most to publish an article or two. Maybe a pile of bs. Maybe a genius.

That’s why I was asking... I’m a prof (not tenured) and would like to know how I can make such a miracle happen for myself

Oh man... this was more credible before you started responding. Abort mission, OP.

You’re right. I was being facetious. The sciences especially are great at churning out articles. And while it takes longer in other fields, many also publish at an ok rate. I’m in the social sciences and also graduated with publications. Also, if you’re into co-authorship it’s definitely possible to publish a ton in most fields - but then again, co-authored papers don’t count as much towards tenure and promotion (I.e. if that is the route OP claims to have taken, it’s still highly unlikely). In any case, good luck on finishing your degree! Way to go, almost Dr.
