Thanks for visiting Iran!

(http://www.humansofnewyork.com/tagged/iran for those who haven't seen it or imgur link)

How did the trip come about? What was your favourite city/place in Iran?

He has not been approved. He hasn't even registered yet and registration closes in a few days and hes not even in iran.

Seriously, no iranian is taking this guy seriously. If we were having secular candidates who haven't pledged allegiance to the leader running then there are many more qualified iranians that we could look at, but the problem isn't the absense of candidates that would lead us to resort to an academic whos spent most of his life in new york. its the structure of the system that doesn't let anyone but their own in.

Yeah, for example what on earth is he going to be using donations for? He's not actually doing any campaigning in iran....

Well, if you're doing a literal translation yes, but it means Welcome and its used as such.

Edit: Actually, a literal translation would literally be "you have come well" AKA Welcome...! "Khosh" means happy/good as you said, "Amadid" means "have come"....

Have you talked to many ordinary afghans? What are their typical views on the challenges afghanistan faces?
