Since no one has asked the obvious question, how much of the money did you keep for yourself?

I had a hard drive crash a couple years ago and I was stupid and didn't back it up first, which I do religiously now as a result of this, and lost some very dear pictures of my mother before she died. I've been holding on to it in the hopes one day I can afford a clean room recovery. Should I just let it go? I tried replacing the EEPROM on the controller board even but to no avail. If you think a cleanroom type facility can recover the pictures can you list any you feel do good work at a reasonable rate? In addition to datarecovery.com that is :)
