Don't take advice from pick-up "artists". Find a club or a social group you fit into and can join (even if it's online) and just be yourself. You'll find someone. It sounds cheesey, but honestly I didn't go actively searching for my current relationship. It just sort of... happened.

Additionally, jealousy is a huge turn off, so if that is in the picture kill it. Women like it when to compliment their achievements and personality. I mean, you should also compliment their looks, but make it something they have control over (hair, clothes). Make notes of small things about them that you like and bring it up at later times.
