Yup. Currently in my second course of theory and we've been focusing on part writing. A big rule is "no parallel fifths", but she makes it pretty clear that this is a rule only for the sake of learning. She is an experimental composer herself, so she understands that outside of the classroom, you can do whatever the hell you want!

I'm sorry, but that's hilarious! Be happy it never stuck. Flashlight is bad enough of a name :P
