I don't want to step on OP's territory, I'm in no way a psychiatrist, but I lived a similar situation with my father. He had deep issues, and he saw multiple shrinks for 10 years without improvement. So I can relate, and I'd like to give my opinion on the subject of "fooling shrinks". At first it appeared to me that my father did exactly what you described. He would fool his psychiatrist and make him agree with everything he was saying. But recently I dated a psychiatrist that made me reconsider my position.

It's not really the psychiatrist's role to give a personal opinion, or to agree or disagree with what the patient is saying. The only thing that can make a person get better, it's the will of that person. The psychiatrist is merely there to provide guidance to the "best" direction a patient can take. But if that person don't want to walk the way, the psychiatrist cannot do anything except listen and try another way of reaching to the patient. I now think that my father's shrinks were never fooled by my father. They saw plain as day that my father didn't want to face his issues, and they couldn't do anything to force him. They tried, but ultimately it all depends on the patient's good will.

The way I see it, seeing a shrink must comes from a personal willingness to get better. If someone wants to fool a shrink, it will be utterly useless, until the time this person is finally ready to face his issue and is willing to work on them. That's why shrink keep "playing their game" when they find someone like that, they just sit and wait for an opportunity.

Hi !

Youtuber myself (not full-time yet), I'm starting to receive quite a lot of propositions from different MCNs (5 different ones since the beginning of this year). I haven't had time to really think about all those options, so I was wondering : do you have any advice you can give me on making the correct MCN choice ?

I'm totally okay with humans helping animals, but I also understand why the don't intervene policy exists.

Helping animals can quickly become a problem due to how fragile the ecosystem is. Yes, we fucked it up a lot and we're putting tons of pressure on certain species. But any intervention can do just the same, even with the best intentions. Helping animals isn't really rectifying or compensating for what we did, it's just us doing even more stuff that might be positive or negative. That's why the don't intervene policy exists in the first place, on the basis that no matter what we do, there is a risk we can fuck it up even more than it already is.

No it's not dumb. There are thousands of details (little or big) in movies that the public will almost never notice. Some of them require time and/or money to actually put them in.

Movie directors don't do that kind of stuff because of the public, they do it because they are passionate about their project and they want to make it as best as they can. They don't care if 99.99999% of the public don't care about it, they care themselves and that's all that matters.

tu/vous (French)

To complicate things a bit, in French "vous" can also be singular, it's just more formal. You would say "vous" when talking to your boss, "tu" when talking to a friend.
