NF: The Azaria case was a watershed case for me in the states. It was so blatantly obvious that he was a total psychopath who committed cold blooded murder on camera, yet it appeared the entire state of Israel celebrated him.

I often find myself debating in the comments section of Frontpagemag and it just seems like these right wingers literally celebrate the murder of Gazans, children. it doesnt even seem possible that these people exist. this is all terrifyingly psychopathic. If you could guesstimate a percentage, what portion of the Israel jewish public, and what portion of the western (american/euro) jewish community feels like I do...that something terrifying is happening? Is the voice of reason and sanity in the wilderness inaudible in Israel? how audible is it? what influence does it have?

Was Ho Chi Minh a terrorist or was he a nationalist freedom fighter waging an independence war against an imperialist colonizer?

NF, the propoganda villifying the Gazans has been very thick. One distortion that seems to be gaining a lot of traction as a go-to excusal of IDF violence is this claim that Hamas is paying people to protest/get shot etc. Which in so many obvious ways seems absurd. From what I gathered, the origin of this is in Hamas leaflets offering restitution for those were injured, something like FEMA relief assistance. Is that correct?

Your "Gaza: Inquest" and your multipart Harvard Gaza lecture on youtube blew my mind. Here's my question, what are the 3 or 4 or 5 best overall historical books on the conflict for non scholars (could be scholarly but doesnt have to be.) and is David Hirst's Gun and Olive Branch on that list? If not, why? It was the book that first showed me things arent what they seem but I never hear it mentioned/referenced anymore.

"in the war against the french" pretty much makes my argument for me.
