One of my professors, an absolute gentleman of a Computer Science researcher, taught us C++ in second year of University and is completely blind. He was hands down the best lecturer we had in both personality and teaching style. His research focus is on software accessibility and the two of us worked together on a postgraduate project make mathematics more accessible. I'm delighted to see that you're interested in computing - I wish you the best of luck! :)

Edit: I've got a few PMs and messages asking me to link to some literature regarding software accessibility. The google scholar page for the gentleman who both taught and worked with me is below, his name is Dr. Donal Fitzpatrick and if you do get a chance to read, I find his work is very interesting.

The paper we worked on together was published in February at DEIMS 2016 and is freely available here:

OP everyone is focusing on your dress (cute as hell obviously) but more seriously how do you see this impacting your life in the future? You mentioned in another comment that you find yourself more efficient without it, do you think you will ever reach a stage where you'll look back and wonder how you managed without it?

A little tangential but how do you view computer science research as an academic field? Do you think it has the ability to keep pace with industry?
