If I follow right, she essentially builds a scene and then gives them the opportunity to do what they want/improvise within that scene.

This is what sold me on this show and now I'm hooked. Like no fake drama, no endless backstories and constant references to some life changing event. Even with the the judging...its not long awkward pauses and cliff hanger lines before cutting to a commercial. Its like "ok cool, this food was good, this food wasn't. John you won this round. Steve, youre going home. Thanks"
