With the recent news of journalists being injured during these protests/riots in the US, why are the journalists not dressed as in other protests around the world?(safety equipment on)

police officers would be required to live in the cities they serve

Wasn't that a problem in a past, due to the gangs sending moles into the police force...having officers that don't have ties to the community where they work is not the problem...besides how is that not unconstitutional? So what, now you can only live where you work, what is this Siberia...
