Cassettes, when mastered and pressed at good qualities, and played back on a high end deck, can sound decent.

They are still technically lower quality than CDs, and generally have worse frequency response in the high end, but played on the right deck, you may not even notice

Source: 17 years old from a low income family and forced to listen to cassettes instead of CDs. Met rich audiophile friend when i was 8 and brought over my tapes to play on his system and the difference was night and day.

Well the friend was in his mid thirties I think. Because I think he's in his mid forties now. It was our neighbor. I was extremely interested in electronics and technology, but my parents were not interested in anything other than being parents. We got to talking about PCs one day and he thought I was pretty intelligent for my age, so he took me under his wing and taught me about computers, repairing appliances, sound systems, etc. He's had a huge impact on my life, and no he didn't sexually assault me.

I believe that's what it was. Was cool for me too because my stepfather was an asshole and my father was in prison, so he was like the one good male role model I had.

People are fucked up. The few ruin it for the rest.

I wish I could say "No! Definitely talk to children!" But that would be some bad advice, I think.

With people like you innovating on these fronts, I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Thank you for doing what you can.
