What is the most important thing in your life?

Hello Bill. I've been a fan of yours for a long time. Thank you for everything you've thought me.

My question is: Would it be possible for scientists to genetically modify plants to take in more carbon dioxide and produces more oxygen. And also could they have them use less water and grow slower. And if that is possible why hasn't anyone done it yet?

I'm asking because of reducing green house gas and to help with the drought in the western U.S..
