I focus pretty heavily on punctuation. Too much sometimes. A lot of that has to do with how I talk as well though. I tend to write how I speak, unless I'm really trying to do some good work.

I guess I worded it wrong, but what I was getting at is more along the lines of, "how do you get to the point where you can make a decent amount off of writing." I dont necessarily want to do it for the paycheck. I want my writing to be read. For people to want to buy it, because they want to read it. I guess in a way I answered my own question. Just be a good writer, I suppose.

My lack of motivation doesn't necessarily stem from not wanting to entertain, or from thinking I won't make enough money. It comes from doubt. Doubt that I'll be able to finish what I start. That it won't be good. That no one will want to read it; and that's disheartening, you know?

How do you make it as a writer? Does it pay decent, or is it more rewarding in other ways? I've always wanted to be a published author, but I lack motivation lately because I dont think its really worth the effort.
