The coin pusher game, the one that pushes coins off a ledge and has a bunch of them dangling dangerously... is the ticket per coin ratio meant to accommodate the unlimited game card?

Cause I spent the last birthday party my son went to, glued to that machine with an unlimited game card, just holding the card up to the scanner and getting coins dispensed constantly, then dropping them in and cleaning it out.

Is that intended or did they misconfigure something and I beat the system?
