Yeah. Apple has a stronger stance on Privacy than Google.

How do I reconcile the two?

Find and use apps that allow you to control what you share. If you're comfortable sharing it, then it's not wrong.

Find platforms that allow you to control who gets your data and when/why/how.

iOS had granular permissions control 4 years before Android got it. While google can still track you on iOS if you turn on 'do not track' in their app settings if you turn off location access at the OS-level, google cannot bypass it, because iOS is quite heavily locked down.

There's a reason I've remained an Apple user... I get to control my data. That means I can still use services like MFP, but I get to manage how much data it accesses.
