Hey bud, first off. I just want to say thank you for what you do. I am an Iraq VET with PTSD. Been in some bad places, physically and mentally. My old unit had a really bad year in 2015 with way too many guys taking their own lives. I have had quite a few phone calls with old buddies or their significant others when they are on the brink. Thank you for what you do, I kind of know what it's like. I was also an EMT for a couple years, dealt with stuff like this first hand. How are you doing mentally? Dealing with this daily can be extremely hard on a person. You making sure that you are staying sane? I hope so. Feel free to PM me if you need to talk. Sometimes dealing with people on the edge can bring you closer to the edge than you realize. Stay safe and keep up the good work.

Not OP, but I have plenty of friends with PTSD and secondary conditions like anxiety, depression, etc. There is a strong, but decreasing mentality, in the military to just ignore it/drink it away. Definitely not the best method. I have found that just frequent contact, even if it's only calls or texts, can help. Sometimes just bullshitting on the phone for a bit a few times a week can make them feel more connected/not forgotten. A lot of us get out of the service and feel forgotten/cut off from friends. The call doesn't have to necessarily have to even have to deal with their depression. BS'ing about sports, deer season, what so and so did that was funny 4 years ago in garrison or on deployment can bring a guy's spirits up. Many of us just need some human contact, especially human contact with someone who "gets it" is all it takes to hold off the shadow for a little more. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more about it.

Around here, sesame oil is pretty expensive. Costco, on the other hand, has huge containers of sesame seeds in the spice section. I oil my wok, add sesame seeds, and then go from there.
