I think you guys are going to single (well double)-handedly raise be awareness throughout the world. I have had about 8 hive enquiries over the last few weeks. These are newbees and they will need assistance in maintaining and inspections. This is where local bee groups need to stand up and start thinking about commercial bee inspections as a service.
It appears you are thinking along these lines also and the bee portal idea is sound otherwise the rest of lives will be spent doing these forums and answering emails, facebook and twitter.
Bee keeping seems to attract a "more aware" and perhaps less selfish person. It's a great community to be a part of.
I look forward to being a part of what you're both building.
