I am a 12 yo. Python learner, I'm taking two CS courses on edX, but I've never used scratch, probably because in England IT is basically all spreadsheets and presentations. Don't get me wrong, it's important, but we should be past that by now. My IT teacher is very focused on how things look rather than how they work. We start learning about scratch when we are 14 at my school. I think it's too late for people to start then. We don't scratch (pardon the pun) on the surface of any actual CS and no logic is taught whatsoever. What can I do to protest against all of this? I am thinking of writing to Michael Gove but he seems to have pushed aside all of the new OT curriculum talk. It's too late for my generation to learn CS at school, but I'd like to help the next people coming through the school. I'd love to make a difference, but I don't know how.
