You've just landed on the moon, but you realize that you've forgotten your glasses!! What is your reaction?

There is a 3 year old in my daycare classroom who has DS and I just wanted to chime in that he is, out of almost every child in the classroom, the sweetest most lovable child I've ever met. Not a day goes by that I don't get a sweet smile and a great big hug.

As for a question, (and forgive me if this has already been asked) because of speech delays, did you and your wife (and any specialists) use sign language as an aid for communication? If so, does she still use it now that she's older?

Also are there different severities to DS? Can some people afflicted with it be more more apt to live alone in the world, or is it generally accepted that they will need help for the rest of their lives?

Thank you for any answers!
