Merry Christmas padre! What are your thoughts on Father Ted and The Vicar of Dibley?

This argument sounds a bit like when folks from countries with bad track records with women’s rights are confused when women do things in more egalitarian countries that would get them assaulted in the more misogynistic culture. Like “how can women have a coed sleepover, what keeps the men from raping them?”

It’s just… not the culture. People don’t buy a gun and rob a store because most people generally don’t want to commit crimes.

I mean, we're talking stereotypes, people really do say that the coast guard doesn't count (which is of course a joke due to the reserves situation.)

Funnily enough the most badass ex-military dude I know (and I've known folks from almost all branches) was in the coast guard on active duty.
