My town is currently going through an epidemic of STDs. There are some points OP made which are incorrect. All this information is available, we all understand the negatives of STDs. We are taught (although in a very scary way) STDs in school. There is no ignorance towards STDs. If anything, people are more scared of them than they should be.

You should be VERY careful doing anything intimate with someone who has an STD. No they are not monsters, but they are carrying a disease with no cure. The real cause of STDs are people who lie about it, or misinform people (it's inactive, we can still have sex).

There were quite a couple people in my high school who got STDs from people who down played them. So maybe you should think a little harder?

You are assuming a bunch of things I said. You corrupted my argument.

Information, learning materials, awareness, has all been spread. There isn't a single person over 13 that isn't aware of Herpes. OP is saying it's OK to have recreational sex if both parties give consent. That is where my argument comes. No PROPER minded person would say "Yeah fuck it, give me da herpes".

If you get an STD, best is to find someone else with it. Otherwise, recreational sex is NOT OKAY!!!!!! If someone seriously allows you to give them an STD, it is probably because they are in a moment.

Please do not believe that if you can convince someone to get an STD it's fair grounds.

Condoning this type of behavior is a terrible idea. You were against it, of course. Now you got it, you want it to be normal. STDs is an epidemic and you really shouldn't be telling people "Hey herpes ain't that bad!!!"
