Thanks for doing the AMA!

What would you all recommend a high school student interested in working for NASA (especially flying, hopefully on the journey to Mars), do in the next few years of their life? Would you recommend the military or civilian route? Any particular universities or programs you would recommend?

Also, how extensive should the video coverage for Thursday's test flight be? Will we be able to see live video all through the flight (minus reentry, of course), or will the feed only cover the launch and landing?

Finally, what role do you see private industry playing in the journey? With CCtCap, etc. the last few years have seen a big increase in the partnership between NASA and private industry, and I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Again, thanks!

How does it feel to be the guy that started this all?

I can't help but laugh every time I see your name. It's amazing that your single thought became a reality through the power of dogecoin.

Hey Mr. Hopkins! Thanks for doing the AMA. I'm currently a high schooler with aspirations of serving as an American astronaut. Therefore, my first question to you is what advice would you give to someone my age looking to be an astronaut? Do you have a recommended college major or high school classes you feel especially helped you? Would you recommend the military or civilian path?

In addition, what are your thoughts on Commercial Spaceflight, such as the things SpaceX is doing with their DragonV2 or Virgin Galactic's plans? If offered a job by SpaceX to go on a flight say, to Low-Earth Orbit or on a flight around the moon would you take it?

Finally, what are your thoughts on manned Martian exploration? Should we go straight to Mars as quickly as possible, or go back to the moon or to an asteroid first? Should we go and come right back, or have our first astronauts on Mars stay and build a colony?

Again, thanks for the AMA and best wishes to you.

Very true. At this point I've pretty much decided on either the Air Force Academy or an AFROTC program at a good engineering university, then pushing for being a test pilot, etc.

Would you happen to be AstroAdrian on Twitter as well?
