How and when did u start ur photography/journalism career?

My wife and I got married in May and I've had a few friends who are also married ask us if we had done couples therapy/counseling before we started living together. We have not and never thought we needed to (or even knew so many of our friends had done it before/after getting married).
What are the benefits of couples therapy? What even is it?..
