How do you feel about obvious adult humor in the storyline of films made for children?

I mostly cringe then laugh when Micheal J.Fox makes fun of Parkinson's on his sit-com. It seems like that humor opens up a door to be ridiculed by others because that humorous perspective becomes more important than apathy. You are def art over apathy. When does a traumatic event in someone's life become humorous? ( I admire that some people can be so humble. )
