That reply puzzles me. Why would anyone want to pay more than the amount absolutely required by law? If a government establishes a legal tax break it's not tax avoidance to take advantage of it. But maybe your definition of tax avoidance includes breaking laws.

Is there anything automatically illegal or unethical about having an offshore account? What line(s) must be crossed to make it illegal?
