There were three key factors that went into deciding which assassins to use: 1) Are they cool? Can we make them fit into the Arkhamverse in terms of aesthetic and design? 2) Do they give us diversity? We want different looking, feeling, sounding characters who mix up the gameplay experience. 3) Finally, and most importantly, we want assassins whose ability sets cleanly mapped to a core Arkham gameplay mechanic that we wanted to challenge the player to master. A good example of this is Deathstroke and how the design of that boss encounter was carefully crafted to challenge the player's mastery of Free Flow Combat and in particular the ability to counter single, double and triple attacks without 'mashing' the buttons.
