I love Homeland. I read it when I was 15 and for some reason it woke me up to the fact that I could actually write fiction myself. 21 years later I'm still writing and actually get paid for it sometimes.

I still have my original paperback from '91. :)

It's like having kids; the pain in the ass moments are nothing compared to the fun of it all.

Never apologize for it, it's a gift. I read you once where you said if you can quit writing, then quit, but if you can't you're a writer. I remembered that a few months back when I scrapped 10 chapters because I wrote myself into a corner. It was like putting down a pet, but what I wound up with is so much better because of it.
