Welp, gotta burn this account now. Still worth it though.

Hi Aisha -

I've met you a couple times (and you always remember my name - how?!) and every single time I turn into a tounge-tied shitshow of awkward but you seem to handle it with grace and kindness. That leads me to wonder...

What's been your most awkward encounter with a fan? Did that encounter alter the way you approach meet and greets after that?

It is! She's a damn space wizard with mind powers. It's the only thing that makes sense.

That or she remembers an old Twitter handle I had that somewhat resembled this account and also I must be really fucking awkward to stick out so clearly in her memory.

Do you want gifts? This is how you get gifts.

I forget the order but there were three main interactions, only two in person that I can remember.

I saw her at DC Improv. I had tweeted her asking about her material variation since I was considering going twice to take different friends. She responded. I only went once and after the show she had a merch line and was signing stuff. I bought a couple DVDs and when I went to give my name, she remembered my Twitter name. Signed one DVD with my real name and one with my Twitter name (that was similar to this account).

Some other time she had tweeted about not having a Google+ invite and I happened to have some so I told her to DM me an email and I'd send her one. She followed me on Twitter and hasn't (yet) unfollowed me. (I've gotten over the pressure to be interesting and I totally do not abuse that direct message button. Promise!)

Not sure which of those came first. The last time was definitely the most recent though when I saw her in NYC. After her show I waited in the line to say hi and give her a bottle of whiskey or bourbon - I can't remember which. While she was saying goodbye to one person, she looked up and down the line just to see how long it was and spotted me. She specifically said hi to me by name. The guy in front of me turned around and said that was really cool. I was a mild celebrity for like 30-45 seconds. When it was my turn she stepped forward for a hug as I was trying to hand her a giant bottle of booze. (WHAT DO I DO WITH MY HANDS?!) I was caught off guard from the attention and surprise hug so I was basically an incoherent mess. Then I snaked another hug before I left. I cringed about that for daaaaays.

She was nothing but smiles and laughter the entire time. So I guess even though I was cringing at myself, I didn't feel too bad about it because she never acted anything less than genuinely happy I came out to see her show.

Compare that to Chris Hardwick who I met twice (and got an autograph from thanks to prodding from Aisha over Twitter to him!) but he didn't recognize me the second time. I did get a from-behind hug from him for my birthday which was warm and amazing and all kinds of right so I'm not too upset at that.
