Adding to this:

China, Japan and South Korea are getting a lot of praise for how they managed to "contain" the virus. What I don't hear anything about is how they are supposed to avoid future outbreaks as long as there's no herd immunity, either through a vaccine or through mass recovery from infection. As far as I can tell, the only option seems to be to keep everybody quarantined until there are 0 cases in the individual country and to then keep the borders closed until the entire world has gotten rid of the virus.

Thank you.

It seems strange, but these stories remind me a lot of the stories I heard from my granddad. He however, was a German soldier who got captured by the Soviets in the battle of Stalingrad in '43.

He was a POW for 8 years and returned back to his home in '51, only to realize that it wasn't German territory anymore, but Polish, and my grandma had fled to west Germany, believing that her husband had died. Luckily he was able to find her again and even after all this time apart, they stayed together until both of them died at the age of 89 a few years ago.

He had a few stories about music as well. He said that it was one of the few things that kept him sane during the 8 years. Some of the guards had instruments and played Russian folk songs, which he kept listening to back in Germany until he died. He was only one of 3 of his entire platoon that survived until '51. Some died of hypothermia, some of malnutrition and some of diseases. But he was lucky because he knew how to work with leather and helped the Soviets with their boots, saddles and furniture and was treated a bit better than the other POWs. Until he died, he felt guilty for leaving so many of his comrades behind.

It's quite horrible that people did this to one another. There were uncountable atrocities committed during this time from one fellow human to another and it really shouldn't happen ever again. I'm very happy that the US and the other allies gave Germany the chance to get back on its feet and I really hope that you, as a serviceman who helped freeing us Germans from the cancer of Nazism are happy with the way Germany has managed to deal with the guilt and the responsibility.

Thank you for doing this.

I used to know a male photographer who did a lot nude shoots with women. Also worked for Playboy Germany for some time.

He had sex with the models all the time, it was insane. He had this entire repertoire of strategies to get them to have sex with him. He would meet with some of them in his studio before the shooting "to loosen up" and "to make them more comfortable". There he would suggest already undressing to get used to it and would just do small talk and casual stuff and he ended up having sex with them more often than not. Others, he would just compliment and flirt with during the shooting and ended up having sex with them after the shooting or went out with them in the evening.

It was creepy but also fascinating to watch. I was like 19 at the time and with my first girlfriend, so this was a completely different world to me. He wasn't really good looking and already around 50 at the time, but he was very masculine, self-confident and direct but also kind of charming.

He died a few years ago.

I'm from Germany and have to say that I love Kohlrabi. If you cook it with a bit of cream it's great.
