I am curious about one angle. It seems every time you read about these big time scams (10's to 100's of millions) the ones that get busted are always cleaned out. Why don't the scammers ever think "Gee I should bury 1, 3, 5, 10 million just in case". I know they are pretty thorough in hunting down assets but it seems like they would never find truly hidden cash. Is it a "I'll never get caught thing?"

Couple of other points on job applications. DON'T put "yes" on the "previous arrest" section, that application will go in the trash. Get as far as you can through the interview/hiring process BEFORE bringing it up. Don't lie at the end of the interview, that's a bad way to start, but it will end before it begins with "yes" checked on the app. Further get any job you can (and although it's not 100% true every where the job market for crap jobs is DESPERATE right now) do a solid 6 months and you can apply for something better/transfer. The first job after getting out is the clincher after that with a good work record you will be fine.

I think you are the exception to the rule for white collar criminals. Most are secretly proud of what they do, like pro grifters. I worked for a fed marshal and actually got to listen to a covert recording. The guy was spewing "I'm so sorry" in public then bragging about how easy it was to steal from "idiots", and how he would do it agian. I just binge watched Narcos and again was floored by Pablo, he was a billionaire and in the end could not even take care of himself, or family. Bernie Madoff (#spits on floor) same deal had billions and didn't seemingly try to conceal any. I have talked this over with colleagues and they believe as do I, no one thinks it will end.
