Hi - my mom died of this about ten years ago; hers also developed suddenly over a couple years, but in her seventies. No known cause, of course.

What keeps you going, mentally? My dad and I have a pact that neither one of us will let the other get to that point - we don't think we could stay sane without autonomy.

So - and please understand my viewpoint - is it just waiting to die?

Do you really think this is a "scientific" field (with the ability to create and test hypotheses with repeatable results by others)?

Isn't this really a group of opinions masquerading as 'Science"?
