It isn't. Surgery is easier on patients who aren't obese (mechanically and also fewer complications), and prognosis and recovery are both better in people in a healthy weight range, but if you have a donor that's it. The surgery might be delayed but you wouldn't be moved down a list. Sounds like poor communication from the physician.

I was on PD also, and I'm doing really well. Take my meds every day, get bloodwork done when needed, but other than that life is normal. You can do it, stay strong and let your loved ones help where they're able!
