that this is beginning to change. But only just a little, so far.

This is the first I've heard of North Koreans getting any access to alternative information. Do you have any more information on this?

How are they getting the USB drives?

How much of the information on them do they believe?

Is there an internal/underground network in DPRK where people disseminate this information?

Is there any sign of any kind of resistance forming as a result?

You're on the right track here. If the cost < sum[ P(winning) * prize] then it actually makes sense to spend the money.

The problem is that the expected outcome isn't nearly large enough.

$1B jackpot => ~$600M lump sum => ~$350M after tax. => ~$200M when you take into account the expected number of winners.

Plus as the jackpot increases, the expected number of winners also increases. I'm not sure the jackpot could ever really get high enough.

Why does it have support from the major parties, and how close are we realistically to getting there?

My understanding is that RCV would greatly reduce the power of both Democrats and Republicans by allowing more parties to participate and eliminating their chance to hold a majority in congress.

$200M is worth having but I think you're missing my point. The calculation is due determining if your expected value (EV) is positive or negative.

Even with extremely high jackpots where it might at first glance appear to be positive, it's still negative.

We have 3 players taller than Vermont's Center.

The tallest of which has a 6" advantage.

The second tallest is a Wooden Award finalist with 26 double-doubles this year.

Purdue has a knack of collapsing in situations like this, but I don't see it happening this year.
