I've been doing them for 21 years. I started doing them because I've always loved Highlights and, at the time, Highlights accepted them from anyone so long astray followed the rules and were good for kids. It was great way to get some steady work and get your foot in the door.

Fun fact: Goofus and Gallant used to be drawn as elves.

As it stands I think I've made over 150 hidden pictures for Highlights.

I find the hardest thing is making sure it's not too obvious something is hidden there. I often add a distraction texture or line to get focus elsewhere.
